Pippa Thomas is a visual artist based in Glasgow. Her practice focuses on ecology – nature’s resilience and human acts of violence/degradation – as well as historical and contemporary entanglements with womanhood and gender. Drawing, mark-making and recycled material investigations are the foundation of her visual work, with imagery drawn from remembered and imagined forms.
Pippa’s practice often extends into collaborative, research-led and community-based contexts. In 2024, she co-founded Two Isles with ecologist Dr M. Bane, an ongoing project addressing creative and artistic agency in ecological action. Through this partnership, she has delivered workshops and public events for organisations such as the NHS, Design Hopes and The Goethe Institute.
Pippa also works as a Studio Assistant at The Glasgow School of Art and tutors with a community art group in the south of Glasgow. Most recently she has collaborated with artist Kate Holford on a long-term research project examining gender and ecological collapse, culminating in an exhibition Death by Landscape (2026) supported by 16 Collective.
